What is chia?
Chia seeds are full of important nutrients. They are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, are rich in antioxidants, and provide fibre, iron, and calcium. Omega-3 fatty acids help raise HDL cholesterol, the ‘good’ cholesterol that protects against heart attack and stroke.
What is chia pudding?
Chia puddings are a delicious way to incorporate all of the benefits of chia into your diet. They are incredibly simple to make and are an excellent breakfast, snack or even dessert! We like to super-charge ours with our naturopathically formulated detox greens supplement for a potent and vital mix of alkalising and antioxidant-rich vegetables, algae, herbs and extracts.
Super Charged Chia Puddings Recipe
Ingredients (serves 4):
1.5 cups of your choice of nut milk (coconut, cashew and macadamia work best as they are the creamiest)
½ cup of chia seeds
1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup or agave nectar
1 tablespoon of Byron Bay Detox Greens
1tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
To a mixing bowl add nut milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, greens powder and vanilla. Whisk to combine.
Divide into 4 glass cups or jars, cover and refrigerate overnight (or at least 6 hours). The chia pudding should be thick and creamy. If not, add more chia seeds, stir, and refrigerate for another hour or so.
Enjoy as-is, or garnish with fresh mint and shredded coconut.
Will keep covered in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
