Nourish Your Mind, Body & Soul with Herbal Tea

As the weather cools down we find ourselves drawn to our internal habitat. A sanctuary surrounded by cozy knits, a good book by the fire and warming, delicious, tea. There are so many reasons to love tea, not only is it heart-warming, it is the perfect vessel for transporting the many healing powers of herbs into our bodies.

Teas can help prevent chronic disease as they are often high in antioxidants, which work to eliminate free radicals throughout the body and prevent oxidative stress. Tea also contains polyphenols, which studies have shown result in a lower likelihood of cancer.

Tea ceremonies have been performed for centuries in cultures all around the world. They are quiet celebrations rooted in mindfulness, respect, and living in harmony with the environment. Tea time can be a beautiful ritual to start or end your day with. There are teas for sparking energy, uplifting your spirits and getting you set up for your day, or for calming, unwinding and allowing you to drift off into the perfect night’s sleep.

Teas have many other powerful abilities, such as supporting detoxification and cleansing, building your immune system and fighting off viruses – important over the cooler months, supercharging your antioxidant intake, assisting your liver & kidneys, nourishing your skin, hair & nails, as well as healing your gut.

Herbal teas come in many forms. They are usually derived from a variety of dried flowers, spices, herbs and fruits. There is a tea for every type of intention. Set yourself up with a nice variety of stock, there’s a tea for every occasion.

The right tea blend can be a wonderful addition to a bath or face steam – allowing you to inhale its properties and feel the benefits directly on the skin. Tea can also be enjoyed over the summer as ‘iced tea’ – simply make your favourite brew, allow it to cool and pour over ice. You may like to add a wedge of lemon & some fresh mint.

Our favourite teas are made locally by Byron Bay Tea Company who combine both the medicinal benefits of plants with the flavours that mother nature provides. Their ethos and philosophy are centred around improving the wellbeing of the individual as well as the planet.
