Get Beautiful Skin Naturally

By now you have probably heard that Miranda Kerr attributes her stunning complexion to a raw, organic diet, or that Megan Gale takes chlorophyll for clear skin. So are these natural beauties onto something? Here’s just a few ways in which you can improve your skin without chemicals or expensive products.

Eat your greens

Green veggies are a fantastic source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and naturally occurring chlorophyll, which all help support clear, youthful looking skin. A green juice or smoothie each day is a great way to boost your intake without eating tons of salad.

Water water water!

You’ve heard it before, but here’s your reminder – 2 litres of water per day helps your kidneys to flush out impurities which in turn supports clear, hydrated, glowing skin. Herbal teas count towards your water intake, so stock up on these if you’re not a huge H2O fan.

Silica – the beauty mineral

Silica is needed to build collagen, which helps to prevent fine lines and wrinkles and keeps skin hydrated. Signs of silica deficiency include dry skin, fine hair, and brittle nails. Horsetail tea is one of the richest sources of silica, or if you want to boost your intake via your diet, try eating some oats, wholegrains or root vegetables.

Good fats are essential too

Essential fatty acids, like the ones found in flaxseed oil, hemp oil, raw nuts, seeds and avocado, are needed to coat the skin cells which hold the moisture in. A lack of these fats can lead to skin which dries out easily.

If you are faced with dry skin, acne, blemishes or if you just want that celebrity glow, remember – what you put into your body is just as important as what you put onto your skin. Nourish your skin from the inside and you will soon see the difference.

A detox is also a guaranteed way to get your skin glowing!
